This Boston shaker is a combination of a stainless steel tin and pint glass. The pint glass is thick and sturdy, which also helps to reduce temperature fluctuations in cocktails when shaking. The long strokes allow for more air to be added during shaking, resulting in mellower cocktails. A separate strainer is required.
