Shizuoka Prefecture's first whiskey distillery in Mishima City to open its doors - Starting from Thursday, August 31st, guided tours for the general public will be available.

The distillery-adjacent bar, 'Water Gate,' will also open on the same day.

Whiskey&Co. Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Shohei Omori, hereinafter referred to as 'the company'), a manufacturer and seller of craft spirits, will open its whiskey distillery 'Distillery Water Dragon' to the general public on Thursday, August 31, 2023. We are also commencing the acceptance of guided tour reservations for interested visitors.

In addition, the bar 'Water Gate' located within the distillery will also open on the same day.

Whiskey&Co. Inc.'s whiskey distillery, 'Distillery Water Dragon,' is housed in a historic 97-year-old building in Mishima City, Shizuoka Prefecture, formerly known as 'Kaikodo Murakami-ya.' Since obtaining our liquor production license on May 31, 2023, becoming the first whiskey distillery in Mishima City and our company's first, we have been focused on the production of base spirits for our future whiskey endeavors. Finally, we have solidified the recipe for our base spirits, and we are now ready to welcome guests.

For the General Public: Distillery Tour

We are pleased to announce the commencement of general reservations for factory tours at 'Distillery Water Dragon,' where we primarily produce American bourbon-style whiskey, a rarity in Japan.

The tour begins with an explanation of what led Whiskey&Co. to embark on whiskey production in Mishima and the reasons behind choosing the Mishima location. We will also share the story behind the naming of 'Water Dragon.' During the approximately one-hour tour, you will have the opportunity to experience and share in the excitement of our journey as we finally embark on the challenge of bringing our craft to the world. We will delve into the details of our manufacturing equipment, which is a result of local craftsmanship, and the passion we invest in our future whiskey production.

At the end of the tour, you can enjoy a tasting service of our company's original craft gin and whiskey base spirits before they are barrel-aged at the distillery-adjacent bar, 'Water Gate.'

The distillery-adjacent bar, 'Water Gate,' will commence regular business starting from August 31st. You can enjoy our award-winning craft gin, 'Teen Spirits,' which received a Silver Award at the 2022 Tokyo Whiskey & Spirits Competition, as well as 'On Spring,' which won the Gold Award in 2023 and was nominated for Best of the Best (Annual Grand Prize), along with our carefully selected bourbon whiskeys.

Furthermore, as an exclusive benefit for holders of our token, 'key3,' which has been available since October 2022, those holding 1,000 tokens or more will have the privilege of reserving seats on the 2nd floor's exclusive 'Jet' floor. Additionally, they will have access to our drink pairing course, which our team has worked tirelessly to perfect. This pairing course includes four cocktails crafted using our craft gin and select bourbon whiskeys, paired with six casually sophisticated dishes inspired by American cuisine, the homeland of bourbon.
