From automotive parts
to cocktail tools.

BIRDY. was founded by Yokoyama Kogyo in Toyota City, Aichi, drawing on expertise in automotive-parts manufacturing. Development of cocktail tools began in 2013 with a shaker prototype polished by hand inside.

Different movements.
Different polishing.

Rather than making the interior entirely flat, polishing leaves irregularities at the 0.1-micron level. Shakers are polished vertically; mixing tins horizontally. Skilled craftspeople finish each piece to follow the movement of the liquid.

Japanese expertise,
in a single tool.

BIRDY.’s policy is to carry out production in Japan, apart from raw materials. Yokoyama Kogyo and its partner factories bring their respective skills together to make each product.

The name comes from a golf “birdie”—one stroke below par. It expresses the aim of going one step beyond the standard while reducing unnecessary elements.

A collaboration brand with Erik Lorincz was announced in 2014, bringing manufacturing expertise together with the user’s perspective in joint product development.
