ABOUT THIS TOOL
About this product
Charcoal Edition uses an electrochemical process to thicken the oxide film to approximately 0.4μm. This reduces reflected light, producing a lustrous deep black without paint or coloring, while improving resistance to wear and corrosion.
A stainless-steel mixing tin with a pouring spout, rather than a conventional glass vessel. Developed through BIRDY.’s Fine Smooth Method, it helps bring ingredients together into a harmonious cocktail. Please check the compatibility guide when selecting a strainer.
Horizontal polishing for stirring: the interior is polished along the circular path of the liquid. This transfers the energy of stirring efficiently, increasing flow and mixing efficiency for a more harmonious cocktail.
Efficient cooling with stainless steel: higher thermal conductivity than glass helps cool efficiently with less ice melt, bringing out aroma and taste. The area touched by the back of the bar spoon is mirror-polished to reduce metallic noise during stirring.
Smoothness designed to incorporate air: skilled craftspeople polish through ten stages to the 0.1-micron level. Subtle surface irregularities incorporate more air into the cocktail for a remarkably mellow mouthfeel.
